Why Balingsta?

2500 YEARS AGO Inge and Jogard erected a rune stone in the small town of Balingsta in Uppsala county. Carved and immortalized in the stone are the first known Nordic Skiers. We do not know for sure who that skier was, but we do know that at that time skiing was not a matter of competition or fun, but of pure asurvival. A must.

A lot has happened since the stone was erected. But we have the legacy, we live with it every day, within us. The feeling of mastering the unwelcome winter landscape of the Nordic countries and the art of being comfortable with the uncomfortable. The difference is that we now have the opportunity to enjoy the short days and the biting cold.

We can seek it, affirm it, and learn to love it. A benefit dedicated to today’s Nordic Skiers.

Thank you for choosing BALINGSTA
